Home is my zen zone.

It is my solace luxurious, comfortable, clean. It is the place where I sit in silence or dance and cook with a glass of wine. It is a true definition of me: beautiful, bold, timeless, confident, centered.

That belief is the foundation of everything I create.

I am Arlene James designer, fabric architect, and founder of AliJ Designs. My mom calls me Ali, and that name became the heart of this brand.

With over 20 years of hands-on expertise working with premium textiles, I have spent two decades understanding how fabric moves, how it ages, how it holds light, and how it makes a room feel. That knowledge does not come from a trend board. It comes from years of working directly with clients who trusted me to transform their most personal spaces.

My journey began with Sunshine Window Treatments, where I designed and produced custom drapery and window treatments for clients who had one consistent need they wanted their homes to reflect who they were. Not just decorated. Curated. Intentional. Elevated.

In 2022 I established AliJ Designs as a natural evolution of that work. Same expertise. Same commitment to quality. A new focus handcrafted luxury pillow covers made from premium fabrics including cotton, linen, velvet, chenille, and suede, each piece selected for its ability to hold value through texture, tone, and longevity.

We are not about trends. We design timeless textile pieces for the woman who invests in her space as much as she invests in herself. The woman who knows that home is not just where you live — it is how you live.

AliJ Designs is proudly rooted in Newnan, Georgia. We are a permanent part of the Downtown Newnan community through our presence at Hometown Marketplace, and we give back to our hometown through fabric donations to Backstreet Arts supporting adults and children in our community who are discovering the joy and skill of creating with textile.

In 2025 AliJ Designs was featured in VoyageATL magazine. In April 2026 we were selected as one of 120 vendors to exhibit at the 5th Annual Georgia Grown Vendor Fair at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta presenting our signature braided textile collection to corporate buyers, hotel procurement teams, and retail partners across the Southeast.

This is not a mass produced brand. Every piece that leaves our studio carries 20 years of expertise, intentional design, and a deep belief that your home deserves to feel like you.
